Each time we open a hive, we risk injuring or killing the queen. Each time we open the hive we set the hive back. The bees have to repair what we messed up!

When we first started as backyard beekeepers, we loved to look in the hives. We wanted to get in-there every few days to check things out; isn’t it great FUN to look in the beehives? We enjoyed looking at all those bees, trying to find the queen and even taking pictures.At that time, we did not realize there should be a PURPOSE for each inspection.
